Project - Barangaroo

Client: Sydney Metro 2

Scope: Over the duration of approx. 1 year EMC Civil was involved in the set up of the new Barangaroo station in the preparation for the tunnelling teams and permanent station construction. Within this project various temporary concrete structures both insitu and precast were constructed and installed on site including concrete transport roads, barge loading dock, capping beams, retaining walls and a temporary road bridge. EMC also aided the archaeological teams on the 180 year old boat excavation and preservation works to ensure it was removed without damage to let the project proceed.

Project - Westconnex

Client: M4E

Scope: EMC constructed the attenuator concrete support structures within the Westconnex tunnels, there was many hurdles to cross for this project including poor access to work zones, the requirement to allow all other trades to access below structures in construction, constructing up against an uneven shotcrete surface and the fact that the columns and header beams were not in fact plumb as they needed to be graded to the angle of the tunnel.
